Our Future, Collective Solutions, let's co-create
Kichwa youth have begun the #Allpamanchi movement 'We are Land'. A movement taking action for a chance for a viable and thriving future in the midst of multi-faceted threats facing the Amazon Rainforest. Their solutions reflect the 5 Demands:
Land Rights | Free, prior, and informed consent | Direct Funding | Protection of life |Traditional Knowledge.

Phase 1 :
Land Tenure
Land Rights An initial endowment of $50,000 USD is required to enable the Venecia Derecha community to formally purchase 5 acres of their ancestral lands, which they have already earmarked for collective ownership.
It is imperative that this purchase happens as soon as possible, to prevent others from being able to claim and exploit this community’s homeland - especially once the current mining moratorium is lifted.
Upon securing the title deeds to this land, Eli's community will invest in building a shared space in which they can gather, host visiting tourists and welcome neighbouring communities.

Phase 2:
Land Mapping
Land Protection additional $ 15,000 USD of funding is required to support the mapping of Santu Urku and Tiyu Yaku, both communities who live either side of Venecia Derecha. The ultimate aim is to support the ecosystem of indigenous communities (beyond these initial 3) on the southern banks of the Napo River to map their territories, once additional funding is made available.
This will enable these communities to develop a shared understanding of both formal and informal land ownership, as well as the various threats that they face from land encroachment and illegal occupation. These maps will be used as a basis for developing a collective land purchase strategy - for which further funding will be required - and for formally monitoring ongoing threats.

Phase 3:

It will also enable Indigenous communities on the Napo River to share their culture and way of life, in the hope of ensuring its preservation.
